Parents Guide to Drivers Ed in Pennsylvania
The biggest concern for any parent is the safety of their children - especially when they're not around. And when your teen has their first drivers license, these worries and fears increase tenfold.
At I Drive Safely, we understand these fears, which is why we are invested in providing your teen with a state-approved education that you can trust. We believe that your teen deserves access to the best tools in order to learn about the responsibility that comes with driving privileges. We are committed to teaching them the essential skills they need before they ever get behind the wheel.
Our Online Driving Course Makes Getting a PA Learners Permit Easy
Choosing an online education for your teen gives them advantages that classroom courses simply can't offer. It's been proven by experts that online courses adapt to students’ individual learning needs far better than a lecture or a textbook.
Your teen is able to:
- Choose when and where they study
- Set their own schedule (and still have time for schoolwork!)
- Work in multiple sessions at their own pace
- Access their course from any computer
- Learn in a comfortable, stress- and distraction-free environment
The Information They’ll Need to Get a Pennsylvania Drivers License
Our course is set up to allow your teen to take in one topic at a time. Each of the units in our online Pennsylvania drivers ed course focuses on one subject for maximum learning and memory retention. At the end of each chapter, your teen will be quizzed with multiple-choice questions, and each quiz can be retaken an unlimited amount of times. This way they can keep the material fresh in their mind, so when it comes time for the final exam, they’re fully prepared.

Parent-Teen Driving Contract
One of the most important things you can do for your teen is to talk to them about establishing ground rules once they're able to drive on their own. To avoid any miscommunication, we've included a parent-teen driving contract with your teen's PA drivers ed course. This contract allows you both to sit down and discuss which rules you'd like to include, and what the rewards and consequences for their driving behavior should be. You can personalize it in any way you'd like, adding in or taking out anything that you feel will make you both more comfortable. When everyone is on the same page, it makes for a much better experience for everyone involved.
Some of the topics covered in the contract include:
- Driving curfew
- Who may ride in the car with your teen
- Cell phone/technology use while driving
- Traffic tickets and moving violations
As long as the communication between the two of you is open and honest, you'll both be able to get what you want out of this agreement. Your teen will be a better, more responsible driver, and you'll get to breathe a sigh of relief!
