Simple Course Breakdown
Since you will be the one helping your teen through their lessons, it's important that both of you know what to expect from this Nevada drivers education program. The course is broken down into individual units, and uses a combination of text lessons and interactive multimedia elements to teach the state-specific information drivers need to know. Your teen will take a 10-question quiz at the end of each chapter to help keep the material fresh in their mind. At the end of the course, there is also a multiple-choice final exam that they will need to pass, after which they are ready to head to the DMV for their learners permit!
Parent-Teen Driving Contract
One of our best resources is our parent-teen driving contract. It offers a way to make sure everyone is on the same page when it comes to your teen getting behind the wheel. With that in mind, we created a downloadable Parent-Teen Driving Contract to get the process in motion. This document enables you and your teen to sit down together and discuss the driving rules (and consequences for breaking those rules) that best fit your family. The form is fully editable, and can be customized to meet your needs. This way, your family has a strong foundation upon which to begin this new and exciting journey.
Some of the topics the contract covers include:
- Passengers: who is allowed to accompany your teen
- Cell phone use while driving
- Car payments/other financial obligations, if applicable
- Drinking and its impact on driving
It's important to address these topics early, so that expectations are set before your son or daughter gets out on the road on their own. With patience and a willingness to compromise, you shouldn't have any problem reaching an agreement on each section of the contract.
