Taking our course may help you reduce your insurance rates – check with your insurance company to see if they offer a discount for customers who enroll in a Pennsylvania defensive driving course. If you have received a Pennsylvania traffic ticket, you’ll need to contact your court and ask whether they would be willing to approve our course for point reduction.
I Drive Safely is not currently an approved course provider in Pennsylvania. However, you still may be able to take one of our courses for an insurance discount. Your insurance provider will be able to tell you whether or not you qualify. You may also receive permission to attend the course by the local court or judge. If you would like more information about specific approval or regulations, you will need to contact your district court.
Permission to take our online traffic school is granted by judges on a case-by-case basis.
You’ll need to check with your insurance provider to make sure they offer a discount for completing a Pennsylvania defensive driving course.
If your insurance provider authorizes you to take our online Pennsylvania defensive driving course for a discount, they may need you to provide a copy of your certificate of completion. As soon as you finish the final exam of your Pennsylvania traffic school, we will get your certificate of completion by email.

Our Pennsylvania driving school course is not timed, and you can take the course at your own pace. Your course material is broken down into 8 single-subject units. You can complete it in a single day, or spread it over a few days.
Each of the course chapters focuses on a single topic that pertains to Pennsylvania driving and traffic laws. Those topics include:
- Highway safety
- Alcohol- and drug-impaired driving
- State traffic laws
- Driving emergencies
- Vehicle maintenance
Yes, your final exam consists of 25 multiple-choice questions. You need to score a 80% or higher to pass, but you may retake the exam as many times as you need to.
