1. Why should I take a traffic school course?

Taking our course may help you reduce your insurance rates – check with your insurance company to see if they offer a discount for customers who enroll in a Maryland defensive driving course. If you have received a Maryland traffic ticket, you’ll need to contact your court and ask whether they would be willing to approve our course for point reduction.

2. Is this course licensed by the state of Maryland?

I Drive Safely is not currently an approved course provider in Maryland. You may be able to take it to satisfy a court requirement, but you will need to get approval from your local court or judge to do so. And you still may be able to take one of our courses for an insurance discount. Your insurance provider will be able to tell you whether or not you qualify.

3. I'm not sure if I'm eligible to take Maryland traffic school. How do I find out?

Although the state of Maryland does not automatically authorize drivers to take an online traffic school, permission is granted by judges on a case-by-case basis. Please contact your local court for more information.

4. Does online traffic school help my insurance rate in Maryland?

You’ll need to check with your insurance provider to make sure they offer a discount for completing a Maryland defensive driving course.

5. Where do I send my traffic school certificate in Maryland?

If your insurance provider authorizes you to take our online Maryland defensive driving course for a discount, they may need you to provide a copy of your certificate of completion. As soon as you finish the final exam of your Maryland traffic school, we will get your certificate by email.

1. How long will this course take?

Our Maryland defensive driving course is not timed, and you can take the course at your own pace. Your course material is broken down into 8 single-subject units. You can complete it in a single day, or spread it over a few days.

2. What types of things will I study?

Each of the course chapters focuses on a single topic that pertains to Maryland driving and traffic laws.

3. Do I have to take a final exam?

Yes, your final exam consists of 25 multiple-choice questions. You need to score a 80% or higher to pass, but you may retake the exam as many times as you need to.
