What was your first car?
1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais aka BIG RED
What did you love about it?
It was my grandma’s, and I thought of her every time I drove it. It also had baller red velvet seats.
What did you hate about it?
It didn’t exactly have the modern amenities I would have valued (no air conditioning, no CD player, a muffler that made it sound like a Harley…). It also broke down on me no less than 3 times on the freeway.

2003 Hyundai Accent
What did you love about it?
It was a set of wheels and I was 16
What did you hate about it?
It was a manual car in every essence of the word. No power steering, locks, windows, seats; even the transmission was manual.

1989 Nissan Sentra
What did you love about it?
I loved that it was smooth to shift and handled nicely (low and light). Also, I worked every other semester in another city, so it had more room than you’d think a two-door car would have.
What did you hate about it?
I hated that teaching my girlfriend stick caused the car to never run smoothly again (don’t downshift into 2nd at 45 mph; at least not in a Sentra). At 185k miles, I laid it to rest in Virginia and moved to California.

What did you love about it?
I loved that it was the largest car on the road, and nothing could destroy it.
What did you hate about it?
I hated the fact that is was puke green and rusted out, but the rust created a bonus ventilation system in the passenger side floor.

What did you love about it?
I didn’t appreciate how cool this car was until I was much older. It was a hand me down from my grandparents. I loved the bench seat!
What did you hate about it?
I hate the fact that I didn’t run into a corn field at 70mph! LOL

What did you love about it?
It was a stick shift and really fun to drive!
What did you hate about it?
It was orange and I hate orange. Also, the stereo was from 1977 and stuck on one station.

What did you love about it?
I loved that I was 17 and even had a car that worked and was in good shape! I also loved the fact that I had installed the radio and subwoofer myself. It took forever but I did it!

It only had two seats.

What did you love about it?
I couldn’t afford car stereo speakers so I used home speakers in the backseat. It bumped pretty good, but didn’t have much leg room for my friends.
What did you hate about it?
Not knowing that you needed to put water and oil in the engine. I cooked it going up the 805 .
